Guitar Notes on Low E String (6th String)

The Foundation of Everything

This is it. The most important string on the guitar. 90% of scale shapes, barre chords, and riffs are visually "anchored" to a note on the Low E string.

The Golden Rule

If you only memorize one string, make it this one. Once you know that the 5th fret is A, you know where the A Major chord lives, where the A Minor Pentatonic starts, and where the A Bass note is. It opens up the entire instrument.
